

1. Park in a well lighted area.
2. Roll up windows completely.
3. Remove keys from ignition.
4. Lock your car.
5. Never hide a spare key on the vehicle.
6. When parking in attended lots or parking garages, leave only the
ignition key with the attendant.
7. Park as close as possible to an open business.
8. Do not leave valuables in sight to tempt a thief.
9. Always park with the wheels turned toward the curb.
10. Back your car into the driveway. If you drive forward into the
driveway, a car thief could raise the hood to hot wire the car, and it
would appear to the neighbors that you were just working on the car.
11. If you have a garage, use it.
12. Lock your garage door.
13. When going out of town, if possible, disable it by removing the
distributor cap or coil wire.
14. Never leave your car running while it is unattended.
1. Look around as you walk to your car.
2. Look at your car inside and out before you get in.
3. Make sure that your car is in good repair and has plenty of gas.
4. Whenever possible, DON'T TRAVEL ALONE.
5. Lock car and roll up windows whenever you are in your car.
6. Decide on a well-lit traveling route. Let someone know your plans and estimated arrival time.
7. Don't open your car door or window to strangers if you feel threatened.
8. Park in safe, well-lit areas. Don't walk to dark or secluded parking areas alone.
9. If a carjacker demands your car keys - give them up.
10. Make note of carjacker's description and get away route. Know your tag number, and CALL THE POLICE.
